Nature For People is about enriching England’s wildlife and
geology for everyone. Over two-years, this project will restore
and recreate some of our most valuable habitats, try out new techniques,
and bring knowledge and enjoyment of our wildlife to the wider public.
Funding for Nature for People comes from a substantial grant of
£10 million from the
Treasury’s Capital Modernisation Fund, established by the
Government to support its desire for a modern and efficient public
service.
Nature For People makes it possible for English Nature to tackle
some of the long-term damaging impacts on the country’s wildlife
and geological sites, and to give the public better access to, and
information about, nature conservation. The funds have been allocated
to eight projects, all of which must be completed by April 2004:
