Kent

Work in this region includes the selection, establishment and management of National Nature Reserves and Marine Nature Reserves; the identification and notification of Sites of Special Scientific Interest and the provision of advice and information about nature conservation.

Guidance and financial support are provided for landowners and managers so that important features in Kent are maintained and enhanced. We give advice on protected species with the help of a network of trained volunteers.

Currently in Kent there are 12 National Nature Reserves (5 managed by Natural England and 7 by approved bodies) and 101 Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
