Essex, Herefordshire and London From the coast to the capital this regional team covers one of the most populated, yet wildlife rich areas in England.We help administer 6 Special Areas of Conservation, 7 Special Protection Areas and 153 Sites of Special Scientific Interest. With an astonishing 400 miles of coastline (more than any other regional team in Natural England), some of the finest lowland woodland and parkland in Europe, and populations of some of the country's rarest animals and plants. Within our patch live 10 million people and we work closely with local communities to provide everyday contact with wildlife. We have 10 National Nature Reserves and most of our 120 Local Nature Reserves have been designated for their special value to local people. The London region is the area encompassed by the administrative boundary of the Greater London Authority. It includes 32 London boroughs and the City of London.
