Peak District and Derbyshire This area covers the whole of Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park. It contains a superb range of wildlife habitats, from the windswept upland gritstone moors of Kinder through the stunning limestone dales of the White Peak, south to the farmed flood plains of the Trent and east to the urban and industrial ex-coalfields. This is an ecological border zone, where arctic plants like cloudberry meet southern ones such as dwarf thistle.
